The Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria (AHAPN) hereby condoles with all Nigerians, the good people of Taraba State and the family of the immediate past governor of Taraba State, Pharmacist Danbaba Suntai on his sudden death on 28th June, 2017.
Mr. Danbaba Suntai graduated as a pharmacist in 1984 from the renowned Ahmadu Bello University (ABU). After his internship and mandatory one year National Youth Service Corp, he began his distinguished political career as Chairman of Bali Local Government and later Director General of Taraba State Ministry of Agriculture.
He rose to become Commissioner for Education, later Commissioner for Health and then Secretary to the Government of Taraba State in 2005. He contested for governorship of Taraba State in 2007, which he won and got reelected in 2011. Mr Danbaba Suntai loved flying, and on one of such flights where he was flying himself, he got involved in a plane crash which he survived, but came out with a lot of injuries, from which he never fully recovered.
Mr. Suntai was a distinguished pharmacist that loved his pharmacy profession with a lot of passion. He will best be remembered for his love and openness to his fellow pharmacists while he was alive. He was married with children.
AHAPN is proud to be associated with Pharmacist Danbaba Suntai even in death and pray that God will give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
