Wife of the President,Hajiya Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has commissioned a sickle cell diagnosis and treatment center in Umuahia.
Represented by the wife of the former Military Administrator of Kebbi and Kastina states, Mrs Grace Chamah, she said one of the biggest challenges facing women and children in Nigeria was access to healthcare services. She said she set up her pet project, ‘Future Assured’ to advocate improved healthcare services for the vulnerable and marginalized section of the Nigerian population.
Wife of the Abia State governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu said that center which is fully equipped with state of the art facilities would go a long way in reducing the incidence of sickle cell and its associated effects.
