Wife of the President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari will today commission breast feeding centres and rooms in government estabslihments in Kebbi State.
A statement from the Medicaid Cancer Foundation, yesterday said she will commission the first two breastfeeding rooms at the Gwadangaji Secretariat Birnin- Kebbi.
The Government of Kebbi State had approved the setting up of breastfeeding centres and rooms in Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state as part of activities to mark this year’s World Breast Feeding Week. The statement said this was in line with the international recommendation to make work places more conducive for working mothers. In addition, it is to mark the National Nutrition Campaign spearheaded by Aisha Buhari across the country.
Wife of Kebbi State governor, and founder, Medicaid Cancer Foundation, Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu called on traditional and religious leaders and other relevant stakeholders to support the efforts towards reducing prevalence of malnutrition and stunted growth among children in the state.
