ALIMA NIGERIA Vacancies for Nurse Aid, Laboratory Technician, Sterilization Technician

ALIMA Nigeria is seeking to recruit dynamic and suitably qualified and experienced Nigerians for its OFDA/USAID funded health and nutrition projects in Monguno, Borno State of Nigeria.
 
1.      Laboratory Technician
Successful candidates will perform clinical laboratory activities according to universally accepted standards and protocols, security and hygiene measures in order to obtain results to determine patients’ treatment. They will be expected to ensure proper reporting and registration of sample results, managing and organising laboratory materials and for reporting all relevant information linked to the activities undertaken within the laboratory.
 
Successful candidates should have a minimum of a Degree in Laboratory Technology, two years post-graduation experience in a clinical set up. Experience working for NGOs and in complex emergencies is an added advantage.
 
 
2.      Sterilisation Technician
Success candidate will perform sterilisation procedures in accordance with WHO and Gvt of Nigeria standards and protocols, set guidelines and health and safety measures and ALIMA Protocols. S/he will ensure the correct use by staff of sterilisation materials and equipment.  S/He will be responsible for ensuring the quality of sterilisation materials and equipment is to acceptable standards and in ensuring the good waste management.
 
Applicants should have a Diploma in Hygiene and Waste Management or its equivalent. Applicants should have at least three years (3) years post qualifying experience, working in a hospital set up. Experience working in complex/humanitarian emergencies and knowledge of local language (Hausa or Kanuri) is an added advantage.
 
 
3.      Nurse Aid
Reporting to the Nursing Supervisor, successful applicants will assist in the provision of nursing care, treatment and follow up of patients according to ALIMA protocols, universally accepted hygienic standards and international health standards. The Nurse aid support the nurses and doctors in achieving ALIMA’s mission of providing good health care delivery to marginalized and vulnerable population in conflict and humanitarian contexts.
 
Successful candidates should have a Diploma in Community Health Extension Workers (or its equivalent), and at least two years post qualifying experience. Post training experience in the provision of nutritional services to under-fives within a humanitarian context will be an added advantage.
