Though they have not received their October salary as at the time of filing this report the Chief Medical Director of the University College Hospital (UCH), Professor Temitope Alonge, has assured the staff of the institution of meeting with the Minister of Finance recently to ensure release of the money and abate their suffering.

Alonge made the promise recently at the Emeritus Professor Theophilous Ogunlesi Hall, Ibadan, during his welcome address, marking the 59th UCH Day Anniversary Dinner where goodwill messages were given by the Head of Departments, Provost of the College of Medicine, Heads of Staff unions, among others.
The CMD said that the 59th anniversary of the College (which was established in 1957) was made low-key on account of the prevailing economic recession, promising that next year’s would be a huge success “because then, we would be clocking 60 years.”
Alonge who confessed that he could not be pretending that all was well with the staff of the premier hospital, thanked the entire workforce for keeping the peace and being magnanimous in spite of some agitations from the nooks and crannies of the institution.
