The Anambra state government has announced plans to celebrate 10 years of polio free status, just as it begins second round of four days of Immunization Plus Days (IPDs) from tomorrow.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joe Akabuike, who made the disclosure in a press briefing yesterday in Awka, said the state had never missed immunizations days whether national or state organized, which, he said, explained why the state had been able to sustain its freedom from polio. He, however, said the previous immunization witnessed some hiccups arising from rejection but that the ministry deployed its staff to halt that.
