Anambra Signs Pact with FHI360, Cheers on HIV/AIDS

The government of Anambra State has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding with FHI360 project and its sub recipient, Centre for health education, economic rehabilitation and social security (Cheers) on HIV/AIDS management and other services. 
 
Global fund is supporting FHI360 and Cheers as promoters of the HIV/AIDS services in the state. 
 
State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joe Akabuike said the engagement would enable residents know their HIV/AIDS status free of charge at the same time provide retroviral drugs to those that test positive. 
 
Earlier, the Senior Technical Adviser, Prevention, Care and Treatment FHI360 Global Fund project, Dr. Rosemary Adu, said global fund project is intervening in about seven comprehensive sites and 45 Primary Health Care centres where global fund is supporting the state in HIV services.
