Re: Declaration of Indefinite Strike Action
In compliance with the directive by the Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) and the Assembly of Healthcare Professional Associations (AHPA), all members of AHAPN in the 36 States of the Federation including FCT are hereby directed to join the indefinite strike action with effect from 12:00 midnight of Wednesday 9th May 2018.
Please recall that the nationwide strike action was declared on Monday 16th April 2018 involving only members working the Federal Health Institutions. However, during the reappraisal meeting which was convened on 7th May 2018, the directive was issued that all members working in the States and FCT should join the strike. Please convey the directive to the Management of your Institutions.
By this directive, all Pharmacists in your institution are expected to commence the strike action by staying off duty by 8:00am of Thursday 10th May, 2018.
No member should refuse to participate. Any act of sabotage by any member or intimidation by Management staff of your institution should be promptly reported.
Your cooperation is needed to make the strike action a success.
