Bauchi State Government has set aside after validation N46 million for disbursement, to 16 Health facilities, in Dass local government area of the state.
The disbursement of the fund was for health investment subsidy, under the Nigerian States Health Investment Project (NSHIP).
N28 million was earlier disbursed to the health facilities for first and second quarters for the project implementation in the state.
Speaking after the validation meeting held in Dass local government area, the Project Coordinator, Dr Adamu Muhammed said the money would be distributed based on individual performance of each health facility.
He also explained that each of the facilities was verified by an independent verifier who ascertained the quality and quantity of services rendered to the people.
In his address, the State Programme Manager, Save One Million Lives, Alhaji Abdullahi Yakubu Zakshi urged health facilities managers to always prioritise saving people’s lives against any material benefit attached to their work.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the negative attitude of some health workers towards patients and therefore implored them to have a rethink for the improvement of health systems in the state.
In his remark, the Director Primary Health Care (PHC), Dass Local Council, Alhaji Sulaiman Abdu Kirfi commended the State Government for choosing the LGA as pilot for the implementation of the project.
