The Executive Director, Borno State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BSPHCDA), Dr. Sule Mele has said that with the commitments of Operation Lafiya Dole, the state has recorded no cases of wild polio in 32 months.
Mele made the disclosure during a training organised for Buratai Initiative Task Force (BITF) in Maiduguri. Mele, who was represented by Dr. Aliyu Shettima, said: “We have also been able to reach 63 percent of our inaccessible settlements with life-saving oral polio vaccines. According to him, there are still an estimated 60,484 unreached children trapped in 2,622 settlements in the state. “We need to reach these children and communities before October this year,” he said.
