Breaking News: Healthcare Workers At The National Orthopaedic Hospital Dala Kano Embark On An Indefinite Strike

Posted on: Wed 28-12-2016

Nurses and other healthcare workers at the National Orthopaedic Hospital Dala Kano today embarked on indefinite strike action.

This action was taken to protest over the non payment of their three months salary and was sequel to the 5 days warning strike action that was embarked upon approximately two weeks ago.

In a memo sent in to us at nursingworldnigeria.com and signed by the National Association of Nigerian Nurses And Midwives P.R.O, it reads as follows:

"... the hospital's management is yet to meet our demands but rather has seen fit to resort to the blatant intimidation of staff of the hospital. We call on the federal government and relevant bodies to speed up actions to pay the 3months arrears as this have brought untold hardship on members of staff".

"This indefinite strike action embarked upon will be suspended once we get paid our rightful dues for the 3months arrears"
