The National Association Of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives Benue State in a letter dated today the 18th of April 2018 has directed all its members to commence an "INDEFINITE STRIKE ACTION". In the letter written to the Unit Chairman and Secretary General hospital Ugba/logo signed by the State Secretary Sadus H.E tittled: COMMENCEMENT OF STRIKE ACTION, it read:
"you would recall that the Benue State Government was issued a 21 day ultimatum since the 19th of February 2018, this lingered on up to 18th April 2018 with no concrete commitment from the State Government

"In view of the above, you are hereby directed to commence an indefinite strike action from 8.00am on the 19th of April 2018.
"... ensure strict compliance. You would be adequately informed as developements unfold"
You would recall that since the Medical Doctors went on an indefinite strike on the 12th of October 2017, Nurses have been manning their duty posts.
The Doctors in Benue State had embarked on their indefinite strike which was declared following the expiration of the 7-day warning strike embarked upon by the state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) over what they described as inability of the government and the management of the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Makurdi, to meet their demands.
