No fewer than 12 persons was confirmed dead, 134 others hospitalised from suspected cholera outbreak, in Mubi-North and Mubi-South local government areas of Adamawa State.
Director Public Health/ Incident Manager Emergency, Dr Bwalki Dili, made the disclosure at a news conference in Yola yesterday.
Dili said the ministry received 11 cases of acute diarrhea and vomiting from the two councils and the laboratory tests indicate positive results of chorea.

He said that the 134 hospitalised are responding to treatment at Mubi General Hospital in the state.
“The ministry conducted investigation and rapid laboratory test of 11 stool samples from the patients and all tested positive of cholera disease.
“Treatment centre has been set up in Mubi and the patients are responding to treatment”, he added. Dilli also said toll line has been set up by the ministry and urged the public to report any suspected cases of the disease to the ministry.
He advised the public to adopt safety measures, environmental hygiene and avoid open defecation and adopt safety measures like proper use of latrines.
