Circular On Harmonisation Of Nursing Officer/Assistant Cadres In Ekiti State Public Service

The National Council on Establishments at its 39th meeting held in Minna, Niger State in 2016 approved the harmonisation of the two cadres in the career structure of nursing practitioners in the Public Service. 
 
These cadres are: Nursing Officer Cadre and Nursing Assistant Cadre. 
 
The State Government has considered this decision and adopted same for implementation for Nursing practitioners in its employment. Consequently, the two cadres In the Nursing career structure in the State Public Service have been harmonised to be Nursing Officer Cadre with effect from 1st March, 2017. 
 
It should however be noted that only Nurses with Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Universities, approved by the National Universities Commission shall be eligible to progress beyound Grade Level 14, the new, harmonised career structure is as follows:
 
NURSING OFFICER CADRE (OFFICERS WITHOUT UNIVERSITY DEGREE IN NURSING) 
. Nursing Officer III, GL 07 
. Nursing Officer II GL 08 
. Nursing Officer 1, GL 09 
. Senior Nursing Officer, GL 10 
. Principal Nursing Officer GL 12
. Chief Nursing Officer II, GL 13
. Chief Nursing Officer I, GL 14
 
NURSING OFFICER CADRE (OFFICERS WITH B.Sc. NURSING)  
. Nursing Officer II, GL 08 (Internship)
. Nursing Officer I, GL 09 
. Senior Nursing Officer GL10 
. Principal Nursing Officer, GL 12 
. Chief Nursing Officer II, GL 13
. Assistant Director, GL 14 
. Deputy Director, GL 15  
. Director, GL 16 
 
In the same vein, officers in this cadre possessing the Registered Nurse/Registered Midwifery Certificate (NRN/NRM) shall be qualified for lateral conversion within the cadre contingent upon acquisition of B.Sc. Nursing obtained from approved universities.
