Job Title: Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW)

Job Summary
The Community Health Worker works under the supervision of the nursing officer to deliver high quality care to patients. The job holder assists nursing officers in assessing patient's condition.
 
Key Result Areas (KRA)
The key result areas of this role are:
Check and record patient's vital signs such Weight, Height, blood pressure, temperature and respiration rate.
Assist to improve patient adherence to treatment regimens.
Assist the Nursing officer in providing basic medical and preventive care.
Assist in providing care for patients requiring nutrition, mental health, and prenatal care.
To maintain highest standard of health education of client.
Efficient in educating babies and adults.
Ensure compliance to clinical governance in ANC and Immunization.
Efficient in chaperon of patients to various consulting rooms.
 
Administrative Duties:
Record patient information in computerized logs.
Ensure all activities carried out in ANC/Immunization are documented.
 
Maintenance:
Regular equipment check and call for maintenance.
Health and Safety:
Carry out duties and responsibilities in compliance with Lily hospitals' health and safety policy and statutory regulations.
Ensure a clean, comfortable and safe environment for patients, clients and members of staff to help reduce infection.
 
The Person
Minimum academic qualification of CHEW certificate
Must be registered with relevant regulatory body.
1 to 3 years relevant work experience in the health sector.
Knowledge of the Microsoft office package.
Outstanding communication (oral and written), interpersonal and people management skills.
Possess high degree of accuracy and attention to details.
 
Remuneration
Salary in line with industry standard
