As the integration of technology drives disruption in industries, community pharmacists have been charged to adopt technology and explore its opportunities to upgrade their services.
The call was made at the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), Eti-Osa Zone, Lagos State, seventh annual business Luncheon/summit, which had the presence of technology experts, Lagos state government and pharmacists, with the theme: “Community Pharmacy and Information Technology Integration in the 21st Century”.
Speaking at the event, the founder of Signal Alliance Limited, Collins Onuegbu said, technology is fast transforming industries as it presents easy approach to solving problems and improving business services. He said the tech-space have brought disruptive shift in life style, banking, and education among others, making the generalized delivery as a conventional model obsolete, adding that the community pharmacy would also experience the shift.
‘This technology will bring about disruptions that are rooted in process simplification and modification, convenience, consumers, patients engagement, efficient data intelligence and utilization, lean operation insight, unprecedented value delivery and the integration of technology to business/human process,” he stressed.
