Ebonyi State Government Monday said more workers were needed in the 13 general hospitals in the state to improve healthcare delivery.
The state Commissioner for Health Ebonyi state, Dr. Daniel Umezurike stated this in Onicha Igboeze, Onicha Local Government Area of the state while inaugurating insulator machine used in burning hospital wastes.
He noted that the state was partnering with tertiary healthcare in the state to redeploy some of health workers to the rural areas for quality healthcare. He explained that average of two staff per general hospital were needed to augment what the state already have.
According to him, the ministry will engage the services one doctor per local government to cover the primary health centres.
