Dr. Vivian Onwuekwe, one-time chairman of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Onitsha branch, has made a passionate appeal to Governor Willie Obiano to immediately resolve the lingering medical doctors strike of Chukwuemeka Odimegwe Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Awka, the Anambra State capital, who had been on strike action over their condition of welfare for some time, noting that the ugly strike was not good for the state’s health sector.
Making the appeal to Governor Obiano while speaking with newsmen during the 31st synod of the Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion, held at Isiafor Idemili North LGA on Sunday, Dr. Oniwuekwe said that Governor Obiano should look into the plight of the striking doctors with view to do something that would address their problem which, she said, were genuine but however admonished the doctors to be patriotic enough to dialogue with government, and sacrifice in order to ensure that the state health sector would not be derailed.
