The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to promoting quality health service delivery at the grass root levels.
The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewale, gave the assurance at the opening ceremony of Hospital Laboratory International Fair, in Abuja, on Thursday.
He said that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government was engaging relevant stakeholders to ensure that more attention was given to health issues of all Nigerians in order to put to an end the nagging issue of medical tourism in the country. Represented by a Director in the Ministry, Dr O J Amodumni , the Minister emphasised the need for experts and other stakeholders to see health matters as a concern of all, and not the government alone.
He applauded organisers of the fair and assured them of the Ministry’s readiness to work with partners that could contribute positively in building standard health sector.
Highlighting the significance of the fair, its organiser and Chief Executive Officer, Xavier Communications Limited, Nick Hayes, said the event was aimed at providing a platform for manufacturers and dealers in hospital equipment to show case quality products.
