FG to Extend Health Intervention in N/East

Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole has called for the extension of the Federal Government health and nutrition emergency response in the Northeast.

He made the call yesterday in Abuja while giving an update on the mid- term review of the programme.

The minister said there was need for sustainability, saying the programme wouldn’t make the targeted impact if the curtains were drawn on it after six months.

He said there was need to empower states in the zone to also take over the response.

Head, Special Projects of the ministry Dr Ngozi R. Azodoh called on stakeholders to expand the response to the two remaining local government areas in Borno State; Abadam and Marte, adding that it would provide more coverage especially now that people were returning to their communities.
