Governor, Ben Ayade of Cross River State is to commission 15 more primary health care facilities constructed under the revitalization of the health sector initiated by his administration since he came on board.
According to the governor, construction of the health facilities followed the present administration’s policy trust to make health care accessible to all residing in the state,particularly pregnant women and children who are prone to death during child birth. Director General,DG State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Betta Edu disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists shortly after the state acting governor, Prof. Ivara Ejemot Esu commissioned the ultra-modern health care facility sited at Technical College, Mayne Avenue,Calabar at the weekend.
Edu, who is yet to mention the exact date that the health care facilities would be commissioned by her principal stated that under the Prof. Ben Ayade’s led-administration, fifteen primary health care centres have been rehabilitated or built.
She said about 46 health centres had been constructed and commissioned across the three senatorial districts of the state with 15 of such facilities still waiting to be commissioned by the Governor whose priority is to revitalize the health sector to cater for the health need of particularly pregnant women and children.
