Tracking devices will soon be introduced in all the 44 local government areas of Kano State to observe the activities of the health workers, the state Commissioner for Health Dr Kabir Ibrahim Getso has said.

Getso who addressed primary health care coordinators and disease notification and surveillance officers in the 44 Local government areas yesterday, said a policy of reward and punishment would be adopted.

The commissioner said despite efforts government was making at providing the right environment for the workers, some were performing below expectation.

“Know that government would no longer condone act of laxity and nonchalant attitude, especially from the health workers whose services are always needed,” the commissioner said.
