Unknown gunmen have kidnapped Professor Olayinka Adegbehingbe of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife. Adegbehingbe was reportedly abducted during a robbery attack that occurred along Ife/Ibadan expressway around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday.

 

The professor was traveling alongside his wife when they were attacked by the armed men between Asejire and Apomu road. Although other road users were able to escape into the bush, Adegbehingbe, was singled out and abducted. The university’s Security officials said efforts are being made to rescue the victim as the case has been reported to the police for further investigation.
