Background
This is a capacity building professional development course to strengthen the Health Governance, Leadership and Management competencies required for a sustainable improved health systems.
Objectives
To provide current and future health managers and leaders with the competencies required to:
â—Lead and manage health programs and institutions to achieve sustainable results.
â—Improve health leadership and management skills and practices
â—Improve governance of health institutions and programs
â—Build stronger health systems that can generate significant and sustainable health gains.
Target Audience
This course is designed for all health professionals (Doctors, Medical Laboratory Scientists, Pharmacists, Nurses, Public Health Officers etc), Directors, Health Managers, Supervisors,
Hospital Administrators, Supervisory Councillor for Health, Board members and graduates who want to develop their health management and governance skills.
Course Structure
Participants in the course are expected to complete the 5-day training that covers all the modules. They are then expected to implement and report on a 6-month action plan to utilize their skills to address a governance, administrative or management challenge.
Participants will engage in a range of activities, including classroom lectures, simulation, case studies, demonstrations and exercises, etc.
Participants who successfully completed the course will be awarded an Executive Professional Diploma in Health Governance, Management and Leadership.
