Healthcare services have been paralysed in Adamawa State followng the lingering health workers crisis as hundreds of health workers took to the major streets of Yola and Jimeta protesting the non- payment of their two years salaries even the elapse of the two weeks ultimatum they issued to the state government.
The protesting health workers carrying placards with various inscriptions ‘ pay us our salaries for two year’, ‘hunger is killing our family, and ‘we are suffering’, marched to the government house in Yola to express their grievances.

Healthcare services remained crippled in virtually all government hospital in the state.
Leader of the demonstrating health workers, Mallam Ibrahim Lau said they were left with no option order than to continue protest until their salaries are paid, pointing out that several letters were written to state government ,state assembly, health commissioner, and all relevant agencies but to no avail.
‘‘The two week ultimatum agreed earlier on elapse and we have not been paid. We will continue demonstration until our our salaries are paid,” Lau added.
A pregnant mother of two, Maria Yahaya who came to the Specialists Hospital, Yola for anti-natal check up stated that she had stayed there for long and nobody has attended to her.
“Government should come to terms with health workers so as to save our lives. My expected date of delivery (EDD) is in couple of weeks and I don’t have money to go to private hospitals,” she lamented.
