Position: Healthcare Quality Officer
Reports to: Project Manager, Private Sector Networks
Hours: Full time
Location: Lagos
Job Summary:
* The Healthcare Quality Officer, Private Sector Network is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the continuous quality improvement activities within assigned facilities according to the project’s Quality Improvement Initiative. * He/She will monitor the facilities’ performance in terms of quality, collect and analyze data and generate appropriate reports.
* He/She will liaise with all staff of the facility to institutionalize quality. Where appropriate, he/she will advise on changes and how to implement them and provide training, tools and techniques to enable them achieve quality targets.
* This position will also work with the Network Facilitators and Project Manager to achieve overall project objectives.
Responsiblities:
* Manages and implements the quality management and quality improvement programs for assigned healthcare facilities
* Oversees quality assurance and compliance functions
* Facilitates quality improvement activities at designated facilities Plot 1980, Wikki Spring Street, Off Agulu Lake Street, Maitama, Abuja, F.C.T
* Collecting clinical QI data from patient records and registers; collating and analyzing data
* Generating appropriate and timely reports
* Facilitate facilities’ collection of NHMIS registers and prompt submission of the Monthly summary forms at designated LGA
* Ensures facilities achieve and maintain set targets of the project’s Quality Initiative
* Perform any other tasks as designated by manager or Director – Service Delivery & Innovation
Position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Strong organizational, analytical, managerial and interpersonal skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Numerical and statistical ability
* Ability to present data at facility, peer and management level
* Detail and process oriented with focus on efficiency
* Applied knowledge of quality improvement theory
* Composed with an eye for detail
* Strong work ethic
* Ability to champion the project within and without HSDF
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
* a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and a Masters’ Degree in Public Health
* Prior experience in M&E activities
* Good knowledge of health care regulatory requirements
* Familiarity with the concept of healthcare quality is an added advantage
* Proven analytical ability in identifying problems, developing solutions and implementing effective courses of action
* Strong communication skills, including the abilities to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, internally and externally
* Excellent report writing skills
