CHEERS is one of the leading indigenous Implementing Partners in Nigeria focussing on mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDs, Malaria and Tuberculosis in Nigeria. CHEERS mission is to improve the quality of lives of vulnerable population groups in rural communities across Nigeria by increasing access to healthcare services, education and economic empowerment. CHEERS is currently scaling up HIV Prevention and Treatment services focusing on Key Populations particularly Female Sex Workers in Imo and Anambra States and is in need of competent/qualified persons to fill up the vacant positions listed below.
 
Position: HTS Officer (2 position)
 
Location: Anambra, Imo
 
Summary of Position:  The HIV Testing Services Officer will work with our Prevention and treatment team to increase HIV testing especially among FSWs in the states.
 
Main Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager:
• Develop FSW-centered testing strategy workplan for clients
• Follow-up of new ART clients to track link to treatment and ensure follow up till the 1st ARVs initiation is achieved.
• Provide routine testing intervention counselling to Outreach Workers and PEs
• Provide partner notification services to index clients who agree to it. 
• Family/genealogy testing: They will also ensure the provision of HIV testing services to spouse and children of index clients.
• Ensure that all identified HIV positives from all SDPs in the hot spots are actively followed up and linked into HIV care and treatment same day.
• Provide escort services during community outreaches to ensure identified positives are successfully linked to HIV care using the necessary referral documentation tools.
• In line with recommendations of the Nigeria HTS guidelines,the officers will provideservices to targeted key populations.
 
Qualifications and Skills:
• Minimum academic qualification includes RN, BSc
• Minimum of One-year experience in HTS/PTS
• Must reside within the State as indicated above
• Knowledge of HTS especially within FSW community
• Knowledge of local dialect
• Must poses excellent English writing and reading skills
