JOHESU, AHPA Urge FG to Release Circular On Retirement Age

Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) and Assembly of Health Workers Professional Association (AHPA) have urged the Federal Government to release without further delay relevant circular on the upward review of retirement age.
The unions added that such circular should be issued on or before the end of August 2014 in order to avoid unpleasant industrial action 
 
This was made known in a communique issued at the end of a two-day joint meeting of JOHESU and AHPA to review the progress made so far made available to Daily Newswatch in Daily Newswatch in Abuja.
 
The communique read that promotion of deserving members from CONJESS 14-15 as Directors, JPHESU noted with satisfaction positive response being shown by various Management of Boards of Teaching Hospital and other Health Institution on this issue, and particularly commend University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan; Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife; National Orthopedic Hospital, Lagos; Federal Medical Centre, Markurdi and a few other institutions yet to comply with the circulars and the scheme of service on this issue to impleme them without further delay.
 
JOHESU noted the report that employers of Medical Laboratory Scientists nationwide have implemented the circular on proper placement of intern Medical Laboratory Scientists, JPHESU urged employers to upwardly regrade other Medical Laboratory Scientists that have been in service before the amendment of this circular as appropriate.
