The Joint Health Sector Unions and the Assembly of Health Care Professionals after the start of their strike action had on the 29th of May 2017 written to the Board Chairman, Benue State University Teaching Hospital Markurdi through the CMD of the hospital to restate their demands.

A copy of the memo sent to us here at Nursingworld Nigeria and signed by BSUTH Chapter JOHESU Chairman Comr. Tahav Kershio and its secretary Comr. Ayila O. Nathaniel CISM read as follows:

FORWARDING OF THE OUTCOME OF THE EMERGENCY CONGRESS OF JOHESU HELD ON 29-05-2017.

The above subject matter refers; Following your request that the Exco of the Joint Health Sector Unions to call a congress to appeal to them to suspend the ongoing strike action, the expanded Executive Council of JOHESU called for an emergency Congress which was held on 29-05-2017.

We therefore write to convey the decision of the Congress which is summarized thus:
1. That the Government should fund the implementation of the 2015 promotion without further delay.
2. The Government should implement the report of the Adhoc Committee setup by His Excellency, Samuel Orton as a matter of Urgency.

Thank you in anticipation of your understanding and Cooperation.
