Health workers in the country have kicked against Federal Ministry of Health's plan to reinstate the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal Medical Centre in Owerri, the Imo State capital, Dr. Angela Uwakwem.

The workers, under the umbrella body of Joint Health Sector Unions and Assembly of Health Care Professionals (JOHESU), at the weekend said his reinstatement, despite the arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on a 18-count charge, was suspicion.

Addressing reporters in Abuja, JOHESU- National Chairman Biobelemoye Josiah said the union did not understand the reasons behinf the ministry's haste to reinstate Uwakwem when, after she had been charged to court by the anti-graft agency.

Josiah urged President Mohammadu Buhari to call the ministry to order because its action was against the anti-corruption crusade of the current administration.
