Nigerian nurses in private employ and currently unemployed have rejected offers for locum employment to replace striking health workers in the federal health institutions
In a post obtained by Nursingworldnigeria.com and shared widely, Nurses were in unity on rejecting locum offers noting that if the federal goverment needed their services they would have employed them when the hospitals were in full function. The post further noted that 'they are being called to sabotage the efforts of fellow colleagues. The broadcast further added 'What we are fighting is for the collective good of all nurses even for the ones yet unborn'
Speaking to a nursingworldnigeria.com correspondent, Nurse Adewunmi noted that 'the salary of a house officer is more than that of a nurse that has spent 12 years in service, this is not fair'
