SUSPENSION OF ON-GOING NATIONWIDE STRIKE BY JOHESU
 
Sequel to a meeting held between Mr. President  Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR and the Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU), the Assembly of Healthcare Professionals Association (AHPA) on Sunday 1st February, 2015 Mr President gave strong commitment and assurances that all the demands of JOHESU which include:
 
. The Court Judgement and agreement signed with the government would be addressed
. That issue of salary adjustment will be taken care of
. That he will ensure that the white paper that will be generated from Yayale Ahmeds commitee report presently undergoing the process of white paper fromation would bring expected harmony and peace in the health sector
 
 
In view of the above, he directed the Honourable Minister of Health Dr Khalil Alhassan to meet with the leadership of JOHESU the following day Monday 2nd February 2015 at 2pm
 
JOHESU at the meeting in the Federal Ministry of Health Expressed the commitment and reassurances made by Mr President over the implementation of all the issues before announcing the suspension of the strike.
 
In his response, the Minister appealed to JOHESU and the entire health workers to be more dedicated to their work while every effort would be made to make the working environment conducive and peaceful and that no member of JOHESU would be victimised for taking part in the strike.
 
We sincerely thank all JOHESU members for their steadfastness during the strike.
