The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday presented two witnesses against Dr Fortune Fiberesima, a former medical aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan.
The witnesses, a former Director of Procurement at the State House, Aminu Abubakar and a staff of the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning, Rukiyat Odekunle in their separate testimonies said the contracts have been executed and payment processes completed.
They testified about two contracts including one awarded to Messrs. TE and C Limited in the sum of N25 million for land reclamation and another one awarded for supply of medical consumables at the State House Medical Centre in favour of Messrs Ibomaedomi and Company in the sum of N36 million.
Fiberesima was arraigned before Justice Peter Affen of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Maitama on a 6-count charge of abuse of office. The defendant also known as Fortunate David and David Thank God Fiberesima, was alleged to have abused his position as the Chief Physician to the President in 2012 in awarding contracts to companies, where he had interests.
At the instance of the prosecution, who sought adjournment to produce other witnesses, Justice Affen adjourned the case to July 13, 2017.
