Sequel to the crisis that engulfed the NSP AGM and Elections held in kaduna between 24th and 29th October 2016, a reconcilatory meeting was convened by Pa Dr T.A. Oshin the most senior past president of the Nigerian Society of physiotherapy.
Speaking at the meeting, Pa Oshin expressed dismay at the fact that an aggrieved group decided to form another professional association of physiotherapy. He appealed that the profession is greater than all and stressed that election should not be a do or die affair. He made it clear that the implication of breaking into two association is huge, noting that none of the two groups will benefit from it but the profession will suffer irreparable consequences both at the national and international stages. The choice of one group over the other by various corporate organization and government in the country and abroad will spell doom for the profession.
The reconcilatory meeting however verified that Dr Rufai Ahmad Y graduated in 2001 and therefore was qualified to contest for the post of NSP President based on year of qualification. This is in accordance with the general house meeting resolution that registration with NSP should start automatically from year of graduation.

Other resolutions made at the meeting include
1. Peace must reign in NSP
2. Physiotherapy in Nigeria must have only one professional association. A group of physiotherapist trying to form another association is advised not to go ahead with such plan.
3. All members should be appealed to on the need to be one and desist from divisive tactics
4. Grey areas of the constitution should be amended especially vetting procedures and vetting should be done earlier than 3 days to AGM
It was also resolved that Pa Dr T.A Oshin should call a meeting of Prof Adedoyin and Dr Rufai with 2 of their strong supporters as soon as possible
