The Executive Secretary of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Primary Healthcare Development Board, Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed, has said the suspected cases of Cerebro Spinal Meningitis (CSM) in the territory are yet to be confirmed.
He said there were now eight suspected cases with six deaths while the board was trying to ensure all hands were on deck to address the situation. “We are yet to have a confirmed case but we have eight suspected cases and six deaths,” he said.
Dr Mohammed said the deaths could only be confirmed as meningitis after a laboratory test adding that the girl that died at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital could not be confirmed because there was no test but an autopsy.
