The Ona of Abaji and Chairman of the Council of Traditional Rulers in the FCT, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, has said he will join hands with the authorities of the council to ‘fight’ parents that reject polio immunisation in the council.
Yunusa, represented by the Madaki of Abaji, Alhaji Ahmad Ibrahim Aguye, stated this during an advocacy/sensitization meeting by the deputy director of Advocacy Communication and Social Mobilisation of the FCT Primary Healthcare Board, Mrs. Nana Yusuf, with religious, traditional rulers and stakeholders in Abaji on Thursday. He noted that there was 95 percent improvement on child immunisation across the council, saying such improvement was as a result of enlightenment campaigns carried out by religious and community leaders in the council.
