Former President of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, MDCAN, Dr. Steven Oluwole, has condemned the closure of the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owerri, Imo State, saying that shutting down the health facility was absurd.
Oluwole who reacted to the temporary shut down of the hospital Last week, said the Federal Ministry of Health had complicated the situation. “Its actions imply that an appointee of government that implemented government policies and cleared of wrong doing could be sacrificed on the altar of appeasement of unions. This action shames justice, fairness, and good governance.
“It raises questions about the policy of government, its implementation and the health system in Nigeria.”
