In a bid to ensure sanity in Nigeria’s health care system, Medheights Pharmacy Limited has called on citizens to refrain from purchasing fake and unregistered drugs. According to the Managing Director of the firm, Mr Adetunji Doherty, fake medicines had done a lot of damage to the health of people, therefore it must be tackled vigorously.
Doherty, who made this call during Medheights maiden customer appreciation day held in Lagos, said with the renewed partnership among stakeholders in the sector, the menace of fake drugs would be eliminated. He, however, pointed out that the collaboration of trustworthy distributors and retailers were needed to ensure members of the public got quality drugs at all times.
He said, “Fake drugs had done a lot of damage to lives in our society, therefore, concerted efforts must be made to expel this monster from our society. “As a pharmaceutical company, we always encourage best practices and that is why we are against this scourge. “Our customer appreciation day was initiated to reward those who have kept faith in us and it is a testament to what we stand for. “Our staff members are well trained and committed to promote the best practices in our industry and safeguard the health of members of the public.”
