Medical Council Threatens To De-register Erring Members

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria has threatened to de-register any erring medical practitioner  who engages in unprofessional conducts.
 
Registrar of the council, Mr. Abdulmumini Ibrahim, gave the warning during the induction of 53 medical graduates of the University of Ilorin College of Health Sciences.
 
‎In his message titled “Life and Death” delivered at the 33rd professional initiation and admission ceremony, the registrar who was represented by Dr. Zinat Saadu, said the council had observed that some medical practitioners now register clinics for non practitioners where they engaged in unethical practices that put patients lives at jeopardy
 
He said though the MDCN as a body was meant to regulate practices and discipline erring medical professionals, it is however” painful when we need to discipline our colleagues because in the first place you should not be found wanting.
