Medical Students Organize Entrepreneurship Summit

The Lagos State University Medical Students’ Association (LASUMSA) recently organized an entrepreneurship summit.

The summit was aimed at making students successful medical entrepreneurs and not just medical doctors after graduation.

The Provost of the College of Medicine, Prof. Babatunde Solagberu, duly represented by the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Dr Adejuwon Adeneye, enjoined students to start their businesses while also emphasizing on the need to be innovative.

Speaking at the summit, the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), Mr Akintunde Oyebode, said the state had set aside the sum of N25 billion for the growth of small and medium scale enterprises.

He said the state had taken steps to foster economic growth via capacity building and provision of necessary funds at a minimal interest rate and called on students to always take bold steps on their dreams of becoming entrepreneurs.
