Over 30 healthcare professionals resident in Bauchi have indicated interest to participate in the upcoming American Safety and Health Institute Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course scheduled to hold in Bauchi in May 2019

 

Speaking on the preparations for the training, the state coordinator of the program in Bauchi Abubakar Alhassan noted that Bauchi is a state in the northeast zone with a high percentage of healthworkers ready to update and upgrade their practice through BLS/ACLS but accessiblity to centers/states where these courses are held is quite a distance and has denied bauchi healthcare professionals the skills and knowledge in BLS and ACLS

 

 

Speaking on this development, Jude Chiedu of Medicalworld Nigeria expressed delight at the interest shown by health professionals in bauchi to update themselves in 21st century guidelines and practices. He reiterated that the course content would cover Advanced Airway Management Course, ECG Interpretation and Masterclass Course, ASHI Basic Life Support Course and ASHI Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Course.

 

All these courses would be offered at a promo fee of N30,000 per student. He noted that Medicalworld was poised to ensure nurses, doctors and all healthcare professionals in bauchi are not denied  the competence and knowledge in BLS and ACLS due to distance and financial reasons attributed to the course fee in previous times.

 

The course is proposed to hold at the Abubakar Tafawa Belewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi and a date would be announced in due course for May 2019
