In recognition of her sterling contribution to the Niger Delta University and the Nursing profession, Dr. Izibeloko Omi Jack-Ide has been elevated to the rank of a Professor of Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing
This news was received with delight and pride amongst the Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing community and did not come as a surprise as she has proved herself as an amiable person and a mentor to many generations of university students. Her immense contribution to the academic, Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing professional development and also the first Faculty of Nursing Sciences in Nigeria and in the West Africa sub-region remains immortal.

Described as a dedicated, diligent and committed academician, Prof Izibeloko Omi Jack-Ide is the Ag. Dean, Faculty of Nursing Sciences at the Niger Delta University, Bayelsa. Standing tall with an impressive and towering qualification, she boasts of certificates in Psychiatric Nursing (1991), General Nursing (1993), and Midwifery (1997).
Prof Izibeloko Omi Jack-Ide holds a BNSc from the University of Calabar (2002), an M.Sc in Advanced Practice (Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing) from the University of Nottingham United Kingdom (2005), a Doctor of Philosophy in same specialty from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), Durban, South Africa (2013) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State (2016)
She is a fellow of the West African College of Nursing and a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International, National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Association of Psychiatric Nurses of Nigerian and the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT)
She is an author and has over 30 publications/ productive works. She is also a Reviewer of the International Journal of Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing and the Annals of Applied Sciences. In 2017, she prepared and presented a technological report to the house committee on health to the Bayelsa state house of assembly
She began her Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing training at the School of Psychiatric Nursing, Uselu, Benin City, Edo State and her illustrious professional career as a staff Nurse at the Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Rumuigbo, Port Harcourt where she rose through the ranks to Nursing Sister and then principal nursing officer at the department of Nursing Services at the Ministry of Health in Bayelsa state. She progressed to the position of a Nurse Educator at the Bayelsa State School of Nursing Tombia from Nov 2002 to May 2003.
At NDU, Prof Izibeloko Omi Jack-Ide teaches 6 undergraduate courses, 4 postgraduate (MSc) Courses and 4 Postgraduate Diploma courses. Her work experiences outside NDU include: Associate Professor: LUATECH –Adjunct –February, 2018, Senior Lecturer: Igbinedion University Okada-Department of Nursing: 2012 – to 2013 and Senior Lecturer: National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) 2007 - 2009
Prof Izibeloko Omi Jack-Ide is native of Obogoro, married to her heartthrob in Yenizue-Epie, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The marriage is blessed with four children.
She is the President nominee, Rotary Club of Yenagoa City Centre for 2020 Rotary year, District 9141 Rotary International and a recipient of multiple awards.
