Minister For Health @IsaacFAdewole Lied, Strike Still Stands: @AAbdrafiu

I must declare my appreciation and commendation for the level of compliance at the day 1 of this ongoing strike action that painfully became inevitable by the non- chalancy  displayed by the FMoH under the leadership of the minister of health. The report reaching us indicates success. Though there are indications of slight hitches in some areas. Kudos to our field soldiers.

However, it is pertinent to watch closely the trend of events. Especially the utterances and body languages of the government agents. Prof. Adewole lied against his conscience by telling the media that he was surprised at the commencement of the strike by health workers. The question is, is JOHESU declaration of dispute and the long protracted process at resolving it new? He claimed that major issues in our demands had been attended to.

He cited only payment of promotion arrears, saying our members have been promoted and that the discussion is ongoing on other things. Whether Mr Prof is feigning ignorance or playing deceptive strategy, or truly disorientated to trend of events and happenings in his ministry, we must prepare thick and thin for this onslaught.

Dear colleagues, the minister and his cohorts in Buhari's government want to trivialise our struggle. Unfortunately this might be to the peril of Nigeria citizens. Well, our slogan shall remain "no retreat no surrender."

Good morning.

Yours,
Triple A
National President, NANNM
