The Nasarawa state government has begun the renovation of School Health Technology, Keffi, in order to create an enabling environment for learning and teaching considering the importance of health to the socio-economic development of the state.

 

Dr. Daniel Iya, the state commissioner of Health, made this known on Tuesday while inspecting the ongoing renovation work at the school in Keffi local government area of the state. Iya restated the state government’s commitment to continue to give its top most priority to the development of the health sector.

 

“The visit is to assess the level of work and to know the areas that need adjustment because this government believes in quality work and we want to create an enabling environment for teaching and learning. Everybody is aware of what this government has done in the area of health and other sectors which have impacted positively on the lives of the people of the state and Nigerians,” he said.

 

Iya disclosed that the state government is deploying equipments and learning materials to the institution to enhance learning process, adding that the intention is to update the knowledge of students in modern practical aspect of health.

 

The Commissioner maintained that it is partnering International Health related bodies in order to improve and strengthen the manpower need of the school in line with stipulated guidelines. Earlier, the Sole Administrator of the school, Alhaji Suleiman Mohammed, said that after the ongoing renovation work, the school would improve academically.

 

He commended Gov.Tanko Almakura for keying in to health and other policies and programmes that have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state and call for its sustenance.
