National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives Assault on Nursing Students of Delta State University, Abraka by Dr. Udoka Onyeaso

Arising from the incident of assault by Dr. Udoka Onyeaso on December 18, 2019 against nursing students who were on their statutory/obligatory clinical posting as a pre-requisite for actualization of Bachelor of Nursing Science, posted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The said Consultant physically pushed Student Nurse Ogeleka Charles out of the Unit and slammed the door against his leg leading to bruises and pain, on a ground best known to her, depriving nursing students of their clinical posting.

Following several incidence of Dr. Udoka Onyeaso abusing privileges as a Consultant, harassing Doctors, Nurses, and Other Staffs as well as Patients and Patient's relatives of which the Hospital management has done little or nothing on these derogatory behavior aimed at causing industrial disharmony.

In view of the above, the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives demand full investigation and appropriate sanctions and discipline on such mischievous practices of Dr. Udoka Onycaso within one (I) week to avoid industrial disharmony.
