The National executive council (NEC) of the Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria held at Eghosa Hall, Merit Hotel, benin city edo state on the 14th of February 2014 and had the following resolutions:

RESOLUTIONS OF THE NEC MEETING
1. ELECTIONS: The NEC in session resolved that the Elections held at the EHOAN’s National Conference (46th National Conference) in Port Harcourt on the 14th November 2013 were VALID and the National Executives Elected are the only bona fide Leaders of the Association and any person or group of persons parading themselves as the National Leaders of the Association are impostors.

2. The NEC in session has ratified the appointment of Sanitarian Suleiman Tanko, as the Acting National Secretary, as presented by the North West Zone due to the inability of the “Secretary-ship” Election to hold in Port Harcourt Conference. His Substantiation will be subject to the ratification at the next AGM of the Association.

3. COURT ISSUE: The NEC resolved that the Association should continue to pursue the case proactively to its conclusion.

4. EHORECON: Due to the undermining actions of the Council to the Association and Environmental Health Practice in general, the Association had forwarded a petition to the Honourable Minister of Environment, and Head of Service of the Federation for necessary actions. In view of that, the NEC in Session has resolved that EHOs in Nigeria should boy-cot all activities of EHORECON, such as registration, License, MCEP, Thematic Training, Council Exam and so on, until our petition has been resolved.

5. COURT INJUCTION: The NEC has resolved that the Association should secure a Court Injunction to restrain the activities of EHORECON until the issues in the Court are resolved.

6. “THE SO-CALLED AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL RECONCILLIATORY CARE TAKER COMMITTEE”: The NEC frowned at the level of false-hood been perpetuated by some disgruntled EHOs in misinforming the general public on the existence of a Reconciliatory caretaker committee, as constituted by a so called Conference of State Presidents and Secretaries of Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN) held on the 5th February 2014, at Citilodge Hotel Plot 595 Durumi Road, Area 1, by Old Secretariat Abuja. The NEC in Session has warned the so-called persons to desist with immediate effect from parading themselves as such, to avoid disciplinary and legal actions. Similarly all State Chapters are being warned not to recognize and or deal with the above impostors, as ALL the State Presidents and Secretaries disclaimed the attendance of such meeting. The State Presidents were therefore asked to issue a Disclaimer against the persons that were said to be the above committee.

7. ASSISTANT GENERAL SECRETARY: Sanitarians Comrade Adebayo Eleshin-nla and Nura Haliru were appointed as Assistant General Secretary.

8. The NEC had 24 States in attendance.
