Press Release by the Management of National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi Lagos

The Management of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, lgbobi, Lagos apologizes to our esteemed patients and the general public for unexpected disruption of some services which occurred on Tuesday, 6th June 2017 due to the physical assault on one of the Hospital's Resident Doctors by a private soldier of the Nigerian Army, Ordinance Corps, Yaba. 
 
The Soldier was promptly arrested by the Police and investigation has commenced.
 
The General Officer Commanding 81 Division Headquarters, Victoria Island has been adequately informed of the incident and the Hospital Management has been assured through the Public Relations Officer that the matter will be thoroughly investigated and necessary disciplinary action will be taken against the soldier. 
 
We believe justice will be done. We want to reassure all patients that the matter is being urgently addressed to avoid further interruption in service delivery of the Hospital. All efforts are being put in place to ensure that full services are restored. 
 
We urge the Resident Doctors to call off the 72 hours warning strike declared as we assure all workers and clients of our commitment to ensure safety in the Hospital environment. 
 
We are steadfastly committed to ensuring the delivery of effective, qualitative and specialized healthcare.
