The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) have established a Bilateral Technical Working Group (BTWG) to provide quick and appropriate emergency medical assistance to disaster victims in the country.
Director-General of NEMA, Mr. Mustapha Maihaja, who led management staff of the agency on a courtesy visit to NMA in Abuja at the weekend, said response to disaster situations would always require more professionals “to guide and direct us appropriately.
”He said partnership would make specialists in various medical fields deal with health issues.
NMA President, Dr. Francis Adedayo, in his remark, said the partnership would enable them offer more services to the less privileged and those in distress in all the states of the federation.
