The Nigerian Medical Association, Oyo State chapter, on Wednesday, lamented the growing menace of quackery among the medical practitioners in the country. The Chairman of Oyo NMA, Dr Akin Sodipo, said the association was setting up an anti-quackery crack team to check the unscrupulous act.
Sodipo stated this at a press briefing to mark the 2019 scientific conference and annual general meeting of the association in Ibadan. While lamenting insecurity in the country, the chairman also stressed that the association was stepping up sensitisation of its members on tips to escape insecurity.
On state of health in the state, he declared that the association tried unsuccessfully to ensure health facility and monitoring accreditation with the Senator Abiola Ajimobi administration, urging Governor Seyi Makinde to ensure only qualified people run hospitals in the state.
