National Universities Commission (NUC) has asked vice chancellors of universities, to check the rising cases of sexual harassment of female students, in their institutions.

The Commission’s Executive Secretary, Professor Rasheed Abubakar, warned that the future of university education in Nigeria, is bleak if the act is not stopped. Abubakar addressing the 2018 conference of association of vice chancellors in Ede, Osun State, asked the vice chancellors to sanction any lecturer accused and found to have sexually assaulted female students.
According to him, the image of Nigeria is being dented by a few unscrupulous lecturers indulging in sexual assault on female students.
